11:15 am –12:45 pm | Session I: “Banking in India undergoing metamorphosis” The Banking Sector in India is undergoing rapid transformation. More foreign players are entering the banking space. Basel reforms are being implemented and rural banking has become the order of the day. Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs)are also gaining popularity. There are talks about allowing new foreign banks to set up wholly owned subsidiaries in order to enable them to penetrate into lower-tier cities. All these and much more make the banking sector one of the most happening and dynamic sectors of the country. This session aims to explore what the banks need to do in such an environment to fuel growth in India. | |

1:30 pm –3:00 pm | Session II: “Changing pattern of investments - Domestic and Foreign” One of the marked consequences of the financial crisis was the erosion of investor sentiment and a sharp drop in risk appetite. However, the situation has transformed itself rendering it opportune for investments. New avenues of investments are emerging in India. The role of private equity is assuming immense significance. In such a situation, policies friendly towards fostering investments are imperative, the importance of which can never be overemphasised. This session would see eminent leaders in the investments domain voice their opinions, concerns and suggestions on India’s investment scenario. | |

3:15 pm –4:45 pm | Session III: Panel Discussion - "Inclusive growth: A Utopian dream or a reality?” Although much is talked about inclusive growth, how much of it is India capable of sustaining? What is the status quo of capacity building towards this end? Can corporate India contribute towards the inclusive growth? How favourable is our financial system in propelling entire India to develop economically, financially and industrially? Through the panel discussion, representatives from banks and the corporate will deliberate on the requisites, challenges and the opportunities for India Inc. in adopting inclusive growth as an instrument leveraging the growth of the nation. |
